Last week, the lovely UrbaneBloc was kind enough to give me two tickets to #LCBOCocktails, a night of cocktails and Mad Men attire hosted by the LCBO. My roommate and I had heard of the event on Twitter, and were dying for a way to get in and have a chance to meet Janie Bryant in the flesh, so we got dolled up and headed downtown.
The Carlu is a gorgeous venue. Mannequins were on display rocking some Mad Men inspired attire. This one was my fave:
The bartenders (sorry, mixologists were friendly and eager to impress. One balanced a martini glass on his forehead and proceeded to pour my roommate’s drink without spilling a drop. Another told us about Please Don’t Tell, a bar in NYC that is hidden in a phone booth. Must put that on my list of things to see next time I make a trip out.
After a bit of hunting, I finally tracked down an Old Fashioned (what would a Mad Men party be without that signature drink?)
Overall, a fantastic night. So glam, and what a great excuse to dress up! We are thinking of hosting a cocktail event in the near future, so stay tuned for that.
